Wedding Planning & Potty's

August 17, 2009
So I have been super busy with wedding planning details, finishing up summer classes, registering for Fall classes, and trying to find more ways to come up with more money! I noticed that my last post was announcing my engagement AND it was my 100th post! Imagine that! YAY! So I have been feeling extremely swamped and always doing something. But I am not complaining, because I love everything that is going on right now!

Except for one thing...Potty Training. I know your not supposed to force a child to potty train because it can be traumatic, not good for the bladder, yada yada I know. But I am positive that my daughter, my Truly is playing games with me. She is playing me like a deck of cards. She knows she has to pee, but she will hold it in until she stands up from the potty, or she has a fresh diaper on.

I know it really is the parent's job to get them on the potty, and make sure they are putting them on their potty every 30 minutes or so, and I've just been distracted and haven't put all that effort into potty training. I admit it. Guilty as charged :-) I know she is ready though, because she get its. She know you pee in the toilet, she flushes the toilet, and washes her hands afterward. And she likes doing it and gets very excited. But me...Ugh it's so exhausting.

Ok...Ok...Truly do you have to pee??!!!

  2. LOL! Surely, you don't think you'll get through the potty season without some struggle. You have to have pee stories to share with other moms!

  3. Happy 100th post!

Your daughter sounds like the kid in the Robert Munsch book "I have to go!" Hopefully she starts to do things properly!

    Stopping in from SITS.

  4. I have two little boys 6 and 3. Our 6 year old was a lot easier than our 3 year old. With our 3 year old, we thought nothing was ever going to work. Until we came up with a potty training reward system. Which turned out to work really well for him. On my blog, I wrote step by step on how we put the potty training system together. I invite to read how we did it. Hang in there, one day she will get it 100% and never look back. That day will come!
